Starting 10 M Air pistol
Today marks the beginning of my documented journey towards the air pistol shooting. After my first session at the local club, I'm both humbled and motivated by the challenge ahead.
First Impressions
Walking into the shooting range for the first time was intimidating. I got a very quick safety training and then I was ready to go.
I had the opportunity to test pistol and rifle but I enjoyed pistol a lot more and I prefer to focus on only one category.
The precision required, the mental discipline, the welcoming community of shooters who've been perfecting their craft for years or even decades.
Key Learnings
- Concentration is everything: Every shot requires complete mental focus
- It's harder than expected: The level of precision required is extraordinary
- Community matters: The club members are incredibly welcoming and supportive. I already learned a lot with them
- Foundation building: This is about building fundamentals that will last
The Path Forward
Starting with a score of 39 out of a possible perfect score shows just how much room I have to grow. But that's excitingâevery session will bring measurable improvement as I develop the core skills.
Equipment Notes
Currently using club equipment to understand what works best for my style and build. Once I've established consistent fundamentals, I'll invest in my own precision equipment.
Session data: 10 shots, 39 score (38.81% accuracy)
